To get the day started, our guides will meet you at the Gullfoss café or pick you up in Reykjavik and transport you to the tour’s destination. On the way, you will be able to get a slide-show of Iceland’s scenic sights, as they whizz past you through the window.
Once we’re there, our friendly, fun-tastic, and qualified guides will give you instructions on how to operate the powerful Yamaha Viper Snowmobile for the Speed Snowmobile Tours.
Our three-cylinder 1000cc machine which has approximately 140 horsepower. As well as this, they will provide you with all the necessary equipment you need for your snowmobile ride and inform you of the necessary procedures before you fire off into the frosty fields of fluffy snow!

Langjökull is also famous for its two massive volcanic craters, a family of active volcanoes, and the borders of the country are also full of brilliant and famous sights.
Eiríksjökull glacier, a monumental mountain formed during the last Ice Age, Hofsjökull glacier, a temple glacier and its famous domed peek, and the crazily-coloured Kerlingarfjöll Mountains are just some of the sensational spots you’ll see around!
The Speed Snowmobile Tours are designed for participants who have some motor-sledge vehicle experience. The snowmobiles are single-rider vehicles and the motor-machines are capable of all snowy grounds, smooth or gravelly. Our Speed Snowmobile Tours are fast and thrilling!
The custom-made tours can last between 2-4 hours, and our professional guides will tailor the trip in accordance with the climate and the curve of the land on the day. This tour is normally 1 hour of high speed snowmobiling, but that is plenty and will leave you shaking after an hour of full throttle break neck speed!
You can enjoy the High Speed Snowmobile Tours on Langjökull Glacier experience every day of the year. The tour runs seven days a week.
The snowmobile ride is based on a single rider only. One snowmobile per rider. The Yamaha Viper accommodates a single rider. If you are looking to get more action on a snowmobile, then this is the ultimate snowmobile tour for you.
What’s Included in the tour cost
The starting point of the High Speed Snowmobile Tours on Langjökull Glacier is a pick up from the nearest pickup point to your accommodation in Reykjavik or pick up at Gullfoss, and the tour cost covers the drive up and down the glacier and activities including the glacier snowmobiling. Of course, we drop you back to Reykjavik or Gullfoss at the end of the day. Choose the pick up option when booking.
Things You Will Need
The majority of this tour will be outside in cold temperatures. In the summer, it can also get cold especially on a glacier and so, dress for the purpose. Dress adequately to keep warm. Ensure you bring with you warm outdoor clothes, woolen hat and gloves.
To prevent a soaking wet experience if it’s raining, waterproof jacket and pants/trousers are recommended. Waterproof hiking boots are also highly recommended and windproof layers of clothing. During the snowmobile session, we provide all the necessary gear including overalls, balaclava, gloves and helmet.
We encourage you to bring along some snacks, drink or water in a daypack to remain replenished and hydrated.
The duration is up to 5 hours with a minimum age of 18 years for participants.
Please note: A valid driver‘s licence is needed to operate a snowmobile. We reserve the right to alter the itinerary according to weather and road conditions for your safety. Price is for one person per snowmobile.

Those were some super fast rigs - Yamaha Viper. Good to know we could customise this ride too. Although 1 hour is plenty on a glacier, we just had to do 2 hours. Thank you guys, we'll be back!
