Cool Snowmobile Glacier Iceland and Secret Lagoon Bathing – Difficulty ⅖ Rating: Easy
We depart in the early hours of the morning and drive towards a magnificent geological area of Iceland. We drive through the Geysir Hot Spring area with its boiling mud pots and spouting hot springs as we head towards the glacier.
This Snowmobile Glacier Iceland and Secret Lagoon experience is fantastic! It’s an incredible task just getting to the top of the glacier to our snowmobile base camp, the second largest glacier in Iceland called Langjökull Glacier. You will experience the stunning landscapes along the way, and the challenge of 4×4 adventure as we climb the route to the glacier in the super jeep.
The snowmobile ride itself is so much fun that you’ll not want to stop. The surrounding snowfields and moon-like landscape is breathtaking and an opportunity to take plenty of photographs.
After an adrenalin pumping snowmobiling session, we drive you back down the glacier and head over to one of our favourite restaurant in South Iceland. A light lunch will be waiting for you as part of this tour to re-energise for the next part of the Snowmobile Glacier Iceland and Secret Lagoon experience.
Next, the natural hot spring awaits near a small village of Flúðir where you will spend the rest of your time relaxing and bathing in a secret outdoor lagoon. It’s just what your mind, body and soul has been waiting for!
You can enjoy the Cool Snowmobile Glacier Iceland and Secret Lagoon experience every day of the year. The tour runs seven days a week including a stopover for a light lunch at our favourite restaurant in South Iceland.
The snowmobile ride is based on two people sharing. However, solo snowmobile riding is also available as an optional extra. If you are looking to get more action, then the solo rider option is well worth it and you can select that option when booking.
What’s Included in the tour cost
The starting point of the Snowmobile Glacier Iceland and Secret Lagoon tour is a pick up from the nearest pickup point to your accommodation, and the tour cost covers all the locations and activities including the glacier snowmobiling and access to the secret lagoon. Of course, we drop you back to Reykjavik at the end of the day.
Things You Will Need
The majority of this tour will be outside in cold temperatures in the winter. In the summer, it can also get cold especially on a glacier and so, dress for the purpose. Dress adequately to keep warm. Ensure you bring with you warm outdoor clothes, woolen hat and gloves.
To prevent a soaking wet experience if it’s raining, waterproof jacket and pants/trousers are recommended. Waterproof hiking boots are also highly recommended and windproof layers of clothing. During the snowmobile session, we provide all the necessary gear including overalls, balaclava, glove and helmet.
A light lunch is provided by us at an amazing restaurant in South Iceland. However, we encourage you to bring along some snacks, drink or water in a daypack to remain replenished and hydrated.
The duration is up to ten hours with a minimum age of six years for participants.
Please note: A valid driver‘s licence is needed to operate a snowmobile. We reserve the right to alter the itinerary according to weather and road conditions for your safety. Price is for two people per snowmobile.
4x4 safari, snowmobiling on a glacier that looked like a different planet, wonderful lunch, natural lagoon bathing... what more can we say. Thanks, it was a day we will never forget 🙂
One of the coolest tours recommended by Nature Kicks. Thank you so much. My girlfriend and I had the time of our lives and to round it off with the natural spa bathing was perfect. Very romantic and thanks for lunch too!
Top dollar experience. Totally unobtrusive day although the driver / guides were always around.
We reserve the right to alter the itinerary of the Snowmobile Glacier Iceland and Secret Lagoon tour according to weather and road conditions for your safety. The weather conditions may not allow the snowmobile experience and in that case, we will have another card up our sleeve. Solo snowmobile rides can also be booked from the booking form.
