Included in the tour ticket price is a pick up from your accommodation in Reykjavík in a super truck. Our driver will be your guide on the hunt for the lights across the Icelandic night skies.
You will be outside the vehicle when we reach a suitable vantage point so warm clothing is recommended. Bring waterproof jackets, woollen hats and gloves. Icelandic nights are characteristically cold, we don’t want that to spoil a once in a lifetime opportunity. You can never be overdressed for a night outdoors in search of the Northern Lights.
The trip will last four hours in total and is a family friendly adventure with no minimum age requirements.

Do I need To Bring Anything on the Trip?
You will spending a lot of time outdoors so bring with you warm outdoor clothing, a waterproof jacket, gloves and strong hiking shoes.

They are a spectacular light show which lights up the night skies of Northern Europe and visible from Iceland between October and April. Electrons from solar dust collide with gases in the earth’s atmosphere to produce this amazing multi-coloured light show.
Can I See The Northern Lights From Anywhere Else In The World?
Iceland is the best place to see the the lights because of its location. Weather conditions play a role in visibility and away from the city lights you will be able to see the lights better.
What if there is a full moon, will they still be visible?
The Northern lights are usually very strong in the North of Iceland. The light of the moon will rarely have an effect on their visibility. Unless the full moon coincides with a weaker cycle of the Aurora Borealis when it is less bright.
How Can You Tell Exactly When They Will be Visible?
Forecasting when the northern lights will appear is not an exact science. There are short term forecasts which can be available but they rely on historical data and when the lights have been seen in the past.
Is It Common For Tours To Be Cancelled?
The Northern Lights – Aurora Borealis Hunt is at the mercy of weather conditions. We reserve the right to cancel the tour in the event that the weather conditions do not permit it to proceed. If we go ahead with the tour and the lights do not appear, you will be given the choice of another evening departure free of charge.
