Described as one of Iceland’s hidden gems, the Þórsmörk valley offers visitors an opportunity to see, feel and experience Iceland’s best kept secret. What better way of seeing this than on an Iceland super jeep tour!
An early morning pickup from your accommodation in one of our super-jeeps gets the day started. With raised wheels and modified suspension, the super-jeep is designed to withstand the rough terrain you will be encountering on this tour.
After taking the coastal route on the East coast of Iceland into the valley, we make the first stop of the trip at Seljalandsfoss. With a 60 metre drop, this is one of Iceland’s most famous waterfalls. There is a cavern reachable via a path behind the waterfall which gives a stunning view from behind the curtain of falling water.
A short drive on this Iceland super jeep tour further into the valley we come to our next stop, the glacier tongue, Gígjökull which stretches from the recently active volcano, the infamous Eyjafjallajökull glacier.
The valley floor is littered with glacial streams and rivers. As we drive into the floor you will get a feel of why we have such big wheels on the jeeps. We will drive through the water and you will hear the grunt of the powerful engine as it works hard to overcome the added load.
Once we are in Þórsmörk, it’s time to leave the Iceland super jeep for a while, you will have the opportunity for hiking and sightseeing. The natural landscape in this region is unspoilt and pristine and you will enjoy every little bit of it. The Thor Valley tour is open to participants of all ages, with a minimum age of 6 years due to the duration of the trip.
Enjoy the Valley of Thor Tour all year round and experience this part of wild Iceland in every season. Expect an early morning start as we head off from Reykjavik between 830am and 9am. The entire tour is up to 10 hours long so you should be prepared for a long day ahead of you.
Lunch is not provided so please ensure you bring a packed lunch, or some money to buy lunch at one of the scheduled stops along the way.

A very long day, but we left with so many memorable experiences. Experiencing nature like this first hand can't be explained. Must do it to live it.
This trip was fun for all the family. My teenage children who we thought would get bored also were very happy. It is not so much hiking, but very good for sight seeing. Very good tour.
It was a long day but a day my wife and I will never forget. Iceland is just so beautiful and the Valley of Thor is simply out of this world. There was so much to see on this tour and the guide was brilliant. Thank you Nature Kicks.
Weather conditions play a major role in this tour and so, it needs to be flexible if changes occur.
