Golden Circle & Snowmobile Iceland Tour – Difficulty ⅖ Rating: Easy
Iceland is endowed with impressive natural phenomena with everything from active volcanoes belching plumes of smoke, to hot springs bubbling water warm enough to bathe in. This Golden Circle and snowmobile Iceland adventure takes you around Iceland to experience some of these natural beauties first hand.
Stop one is Þingvellir National Park located within one hour’s drive from Reykjavík City. The park holds a very important place in Iceland’s history as this was the place where the country’s first parliament was born and has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage site. Activities in the park include fishing and scuba diving.
A dirt track ride takes us to our next stop, the geothermal region of Geysir. Here you will witness a magnificent display of nature’s ferocious power. Imagine a column of water gushing 30 metres into the air every couple of minutes, that’s what in store for you at the Strokkur geyser.
From one wonder of nature featuring gushing water to another, your next stop is the Golden waterfall, known locally as Gullfoss, on the river Hvítá or Whitewater. Langjökull is Iceland’s second largest glacier, and it feeds the river Hvítá. Water plunges 32m into a canyon with spray cascading up to the viewing rim and on a sunny day you can view spectacular rainbow displays.
The final stage of the golden circle and snowmobile Iceland adventure will get your adrenaline pumping as we go onto the Langjökull Glacier for a session of snowmobiling. After kitting you out in the safety gear, you are ready to satisfy your need for exhilarating action as you take on the glacier. For an entire hour, we will criss-cross the glacier as you experience all the bumps and the beautiful snowscape.
For a princely sum per person, you can enjoy the Golden Circle and Snowmobile Iceland adventure every day of the year. The tour runs seven days a week including a stopover at Þingvellir National Park and includes a snowmobile ride based on two people sharing.
Solo snowmobile ride is available as an optional extra. If you are looking to get more action, then the solo rider option is well worth it. However, if a shared experience is your kind of thing, then the inclusive option is just right.
What’s Included in the tour cost:
The starting point of this adventure is pick up from your hotel, and the tour cost covers all the locations and activities including the snowmobile rides on the glacier.
Things You Will Need

Lunch is not provided with the tour so if you can bring a packed lunch or some money for when we stop at Gullfoss Cafe.
The tour duration is ten hours with a minimum age of eight years for participants. Each guide will have a maximum of ten persons to ensure we provide as personal a service as possible.
I've snowmobiled in many parts of the world, but this one wins hands down. The glacier is amazing and I would advise anyone booking this tour, if you can, book a single passenger ride. It's more fun that way 🙂
The golden circle tour was just the lead up to the climax of snowmobiling on a glacier. We felt like we were on a different planet, the moon perhaps! The silence and the scenery is awe inspiring. Thank you Nature Kicks for recommending.
This is one of the coolest things we've done. The golden circle was amazing and the snowmobile ride was on another level. It was like we were on another planet!! Snowmobiling on a glacier, unbelievable. Thank you.
Some weather conditions may not allow the snowmobile Iceland experience and in that case, we have another card up our sleeve. The super jeep adventure is on standby just in case we have to abandon the snowmobile adventure. With a capacity of between 5 and 12 persons, we will use these on the glacier instead.
Our group sizes are intentionally small to ensure everyone gets a big slice of the action. Solo snowmobile rides can also be arranged. The pricing basis for the tour price is two sharing a snowmobile.
