Glacier Hiking Iceland & Ice Climbing – Difficulty ⅖ Rating: Easy
Combined Hiking & Climbing tour to Sólheimajökull Glacier from the capital Reykjavik in a day. Hike the glaciers and climb the ice on this epic glacier hiking Iceland tour!
This tour offers you an opportunity to go where not many people have ventured. Sólheimajökull is a glacier “snout”, part of the Myrdalsjokull ice cap, and this is where the tour will take us. One of the most breathtaking glaciers in Iceland, this unassuming mass of ice is awe inspiring for everyone who sets foot on it. Years of ice shelf movements have led to the development of sinkholes, crevasses, ridges and ice formations that we will explore on the tour.
Ice climbing is one of the most exciting activities you will do on this tour. We will find the ideal ice wall for you to successfully attempt your first ice climb even for beginners.
To make your tour the best it can be, there are a few extra details and clothing you need to know:
• We will be doing a lot of climbing, and so ice climbing boots are essential
• Chances are you will get wet, especially at the waterfalls from the spray so bringing a waterproof jacket and pants is advisable
• We have waterproof pants and jackets available to rent just let us know when you make your booking
