You will be picked up from your Reykjavik hotel or accommodation around 8AM on the day of departure and we will head towards the north of Reykjavik to Húsafell, one of the most beautiful areas in Iceland. Along the way, you will experience magnificent scenery and history narrated by the guide.
We will visit two amazing waterfalls on the first leg of the journey called Barnafossar and Hraunfossar. Following the viewing and exploration of the area and waterfalls, the afternoon leg of the journey will take us into the ice cave of a glacier, Langjökull glacier, the 2nd largest glacier in Iceland.
The guided tour within this unbelievable ice cave is full of education and inspirational value as you’re walked through a 600 meter tunnel surrounded by ice. To catch up on the days activities, we will settle you into your accommodation in the local area, and relax and reflect about the day over dinner.
Optional extra in the afternoon/evening – Visit the Víðgelmir lava tube. Iceland’s longest natural lava tube.
There is a reason why the Golden Circle is so popular. This tour takes you to natural, geological phenomenons that is awe inspiring and where you see and feel the full force of our true nature.
The main attractions being Geysir hot springs, Gullfoss waterfall and Þingvellir national park, but you will also experience where the first parliamentary meeting took place and the drift points of North American and Eurasian continental plates.
Among other mini geysirs and mud pots, the amazing Strokkur hot spring is one to watch as it sprouts water up to 80 feet or more. If that isn’t enough excitement, there will be a delicious meal waiting for you after we settle you into your accommodation.
On day 3, nature and wilderness will take hold of you in every sense of the word! As we drive along towards the south coast of Iceland, you will experience little villages and points of history dotted around the grandeur of this region.
You will experience the unique Seljalandsfoss waterfall followed by one of the most photographed waterfalls, Skógar. These are two waterfalls of completely different magnitudes and brilliance.
After a spot of lunch to rejuvenate the energy levels and ready ourselves for the final leg of the adventure, you will prepare yourself and embark on a glacier hike lasting approximately 90 minutes. Don’t worry, you’re not alone, a certified mountain guide will be by your side as you explore one of the most stunning glaciers in Iceland.
